Howells School Shows 2019

Stage Lighting Services were once again asked to provide a large variety of equipment for show’s in Howells School in Llandaf. Two of the more recent shows were Peter Pan and The Wizard of Oz. The Howells School Sports Hall was transformed to their specific needs.

The equipment Stage Lighting Services supplied included the following;

Steeldeck Staging, Pipe & Drape, Rigging, Power and Distribution, MVS Hazers, Robe 600 Spots, Robe Spiiders, Robe CycFX, Truss, Motors and Rigging, ETC Ion Lighting Console with Art-Net. Along with a dedicated project manager providing technical support when required.

We also had help from Stage Sound Services who provided Sound and Video for the event.

Admiral Insurance Party 2018

The Principality Stadium was recently transformed into the hottest venue in town

Working closely with our sister company Stage Sound Services we were contracted to supply two very large Steeldeck structures for the Admiral Insurance Party 2018.

Our Production Team worked alongside Stage Sound Services to ensure the clients vision for the structures was met. Using our standard tiered seating leg stock we were able to create a very impressive pyramid stage. Using over 90 sections of 8′ x 4′ Steeldeck.

We also provided the main stage for the event. Which was also formed of over 90 sections of 8′ x 4′ Steeldeck Staging. During this event we were completely out of 8′ x 4′ staging. 

Along side the supply of the staging we also provided our Robe Pointe, Spiider, 600 Spot & GDS Uplighters.

Last weekend saw us at The Passenger Shed at Brunel’s Old Station with Stage Sound Services providing a comprehensive technical package for IAV Audio Visual for the Zimmer Biomet Awards

The City of the Unexpected 2016

Stage Lighting Services Ltd Cardiff were recently contracted by National Theatre Wales. We provided specialist staging solutions and lighting for The City of the Unexpected.

Our Production Management team have been able to work closely with the client. From producing CAD drawings to installing the staging structures using our Steeldeck Staging. Our Production Manager for this project was able to oversee the process from start to finish.

The City of the Unexpected 2016 had stages located in various sites across Cardiff, including a stage to fill the fountain at City Hall. 

We were also contracted to supply the lighting for the performance outside City Hall. This included the supply of Robe Moving Heads; including our new Robe Spikies. We also supplied power distribution, production electricians, lighting technicians, communications and followspots.

New Robe Spikie Washbeams have arrived

The Robe Spikie LED WashBeam is a small, super fast LED WashBeam, which utilises a single 60W RGBW light source with a specially designed 110mm wide front lens producing a solid beam. The fixture quickly zooms from a soft wide 28° wash to a tight sharp-edged 4° beam or one of two new stunning air effects.

The new Robe Spikie LED WashBeam innovative Flower Effect creates sharp multicoloured spikes of light, rotating in both directions at variable speed. Additionally, a unique Beam Effect Engine transforms the output into a dynamic ray of three narrow beams, creating another new visual effect to the show.

The Continuous rotation of pan and tilt gives new dynamic elements across the stage.

The super strong light-output can be maximised by using ROBE‘s unique HotSpot Control system together with the linear iris to create very powerful beam effects. An innovative patented cooling system ensures the best lamp operating temperatures and allows DMX controlled noise reduction. Users have complete control of all features of this fixture, making it ideal for environments where noise levels are critical and light output requirements are high.

The Robe Robin 100 LEDBeams are super fast and are the ultimate effects lighting tool. A highly optimized motorized control produces speedy pan and tilt movement, three LED zones allow the creation of various colour chases, and the extra punchy seven degree beam angle can be amplified with fast strobing.

Simplified control via pre-programmed colours, colour chases and effects on a virtual colour wheel and various strobing and pulsing effects allow quick and easy programming of the Robe Robin 100 LEDBeam.

The Robe Robin 100 LEDBeams feature 12 x RGBW multichip LEDs with High efficient component optics. the beam angle is 7° but we will include the optional 25deg and 45deg clip on filters giving you a very nice compact LED wash light. The Robe Robin MiniMe is an effects lighting luminaire with the addition of full video output.

The MiniMe is a small, neat, fast moving fixture that is LED driven with 20,000 hour lifetime source. Comparable with 2500 ANSI lumen lamp projectors

Colours, Gobos and beam shapes are all digitally generated by the on-board micro-media server. Custom artwork, still photographs and video can also be simply uploaded for projection, whilst live video can be streamed through the High Definition Multimedia Interface input.
